Janome Atelier 8 Sewing Machine
The Atelier 8 is the new flagship of Janome’s Atelier sewing range, and it is a real treat for quilters and dressmakers alike. It brings Janome’s A.S.R. Accurate Stitch Regulator option to the Atelier series for the first time, alongside AcuFeed Flex, a brand new floating mode and a big high definition colour screen, all in a curved body with Moonlight Titanium highlights.
With 210mm of space to the right of the needle, there is plenty of room for quilts and larger projects, and a large extension table comes in the box along with the knee lifter. AcuFeed Flex feeds your layers evenly from above and below, which makes a real difference with quilt sandwiches, stretchy knits and slippery fabrics. The new floating mode lets you set the presser foot pressure and height, from 0 to 4mm, without affecting your tension, so delicate fabrics that like to shift stay under control when you sew straight stitch.
For free motion work, the Atelier 8 is A.S.R. enabled. Add the optional A.S.R. kit and setting up takes just two steps, and the new passive mode stops the needle when the fabric is not moving. You can adjust the sensor sensitivity as your skills build. Ruler work mode is built in and the ruler work foot is included, so you can start quilting with rulers straight away.
There are 350 built in stitches including 11 buttonhole styles, shown on a 5 inch high definition colour screen, plus a stitch tapering function for shaping decorative stitches. Switching to straight stitch takes a push of a lever with no screwdriver, and the straight stitch needle plate is included. The auto presser foot lift, Superior Needle Threader V2, bobbin thread sensor and start/stop button all make long sessions easier, and it sews at up to 1,060 stitches per minute on straight stitch. You can also let the machine set up your chosen technique from the Sewing Applications menu, or use Janome’s free AcuSpark2 app.
