Sewing machine servicing and repairs
Machines get used. Lint builds up, oil dries out, timing drifts, and one day the stitch that was always fine is suddenly not fine.
We service and repair sewing machines, overlockers and embroidery machines of any make, in our own workshop. Whether you bought it from us, inherited it, or found it at a car boot twenty years ago makes no difference to us.

How it works
Four steps, no surprises.
Bring it in, or drop it at an agent
Bring your machine to the shop during opening hours, or leave it with one of our service agents if that is easier. Feet, bobbins, power lead and foot pedal if you have them.
We book it in and give you a time estimate
We take the machine in, log the job, and tell you what it will cost and roughly how long we will need it. You will know before you leave.
We only ring you if something changes
If we open it up and find something that will cost more than we quoted, we stop and call you. We never do extra work and surprise you with it afterwards.
We call you when it is ready
Machines left with an agent go back to that agent, and they will let you know when yours has arrived.
What a full service actually involves
It is not a wipe over with a cloth.
- Stripped down properly, and the lint and thread that has packed itself into the works removed
- Cleaned and lubricated where it should be, and nowhere it should not
- Tensions checked and set
- Timing checked and adjusted
- Feed, hook and needle bar inspected for wear
- Sewn off on real fabric before it comes back to you, because a machine that runs nicely with no thread in it proves nothing
Everything we do carries a three month guarantee.
Any make, any age
Brother, Bernina, Bernette, Janome, Juki, Pfaff, Husqvarna and Babylock are the ones we know best, since we sell and warranty them.
But we work on far more than that. Older Singers, Frister and Rossmann, Toyota, Elna, Necchi, Jones, machines whose badge has worn off entirely. If it sews, bring it in and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth doing.
Some machines are not worth the cost of the repair. We will say so rather than take the work.
Where you can drop your machine off
These shops take machines in for us, and your machine comes back to the same shop when it is done.
