Description

The Bernina 580 Liberty Edition brings together two names with a long history of craftsmanship. Produced as a limited run, this machine wears an exclusive faceplate carrying Liberty’s Glen Lyon Blooms print, a floral design drawn and painted in Liberty’s own London studio. It’s a machine that’s every bit as lovely to look at as it is to sew on.

Alongside the styling, Bernina have added 32 exclusive decorative stitches inspired by the Liberty design, plus 91 dedicated Liberty embroidery designs, so you can carry that same floral character through into your own projects, whether that’s garments, home décor or gifts.

At its core, this is still a full Bernina 5 Series machine. You get Bernina Dual Feed for smooth, even feeding of multiple layers and slippery fabrics, the Bernina Stitch Regulator (BSR) for beautifully consistent free motion quilting regardless of speed, and a generous 8.5 inch workspace to the right of the needle for handling larger quilts and projects with ease. The precision Bernina Hook keeps stitch quality dependable even at speeds of up to 1,000 stitches per minute, and the front loading jumbo bobbin means fewer stops to rethread.

Everyday sewing is made easier too, with an automatic thread cutter, automatic presser foot lift and pressure adjustment, a semi-automatic needle threader and a 4.3 inch colour touchscreen for straightforward navigation. The Free Hand System knee lifter leaves both hands free to guide fabric exactly where you need it.

This special edition includes three additional presser feet beyond the standard set: the Edgestitch Foot #10D for precise topstitching, the Open Embroidery Foot #20D for clear visibility during decorative work, and the Patchwork Foot #97D for accurate quilting and piecing. A matching Liberty print trolley and embroidery module bag are also available separately for those who like to travel with their machine.

Embroidery is ready to go with the optional Embroidery Module, expanding the machine to a maximum embroidery area of 400 x 150mm with access to 349 built in designs alongside the 91 exclusive Liberty motifs.
