The Baby lock Primo is a coverstitch machine, and a rather special one. If you have ever looked at the twin row of stitching on the hem of a shop bought t shirt and wondered how it is done, this is the machine that does it.
What sets the Primo apart from every other coverstitch machine is the swing foot, which turns a straight functional hem into something you can genuinely design with. It is the sort of feature people buy the machine for once they have seen it working.

The decorative threads pass through the presser foot itself, and the foot and shaft move as one unit to produce a curved decorative stitch. It takes one or two decorative threads, and there is nothing else on the market that does it.
Eight seam variations
Serpentine stitches, swing stitches, chain stitch and three and four thread cover stitches in narrow and wide, from three needles and up to six threads.
ExtraordinAir air threading
Press the button and the loopers thread themselves. On a machine with this many threads that is not a convenience, it is the difference between using it and leaving it in the cupboard.
Mechanical needle threader
The needles are threaded for you as well, so the whole setting up process is quick rather than something you put off.
Differential feed
Stops seams puckering or going wavy on stretch fabric, and can be used deliberately to gather where you want that effect.
1,500 stitches a minute
With continuously adjustable speed control, so you can wind it right down while you find your confidence.
140mm throat width

Swing It!
The brand new Baby lock Primo masters the complete repertoire of classic cover stitches. But it can do much more, as it is also equipped with a world first: the baby lock swing foot! Two wipers are integrated into this foot, which can sew additional threads of different qualities. Sewing is done in combination with chain or cover stitches, so that the reverse side corresponds to that of the respective cover stitch.
And popular conveniences in technical perfection such as the thread delivery system, needle threader, air threading for looper thread, needle position button or speed regulator also guarantee carefree sewing pleasure with the Primo.
Optional foot inserts also make it possible to attach ribbons or cords, for example to make or appliqué borders.
The standard cover foot supplied enables effortless changeover to a cover machine by replacing it with the swing foot.
