The BERNINA 335 is the 325’s more generous sibling, and for a lot of people it is the right place to start. Same Swiss engineering, same compact body, considerably more to play with.
If you are choosing between the two, the deciding factor is usually the Free Hand System and the stitch count. If you already know you want to do decorative work, or you want to sew with both hands staying on the fabric, the 335 is worth the step up.

BERNINA Free Hand System
The knee lever BERNINA owners will not live without. Raise and lower the presser foot with your knee while both hands stay on the fabric. It sounds like a small thing and it changes how you sew.
Automatic buttonhole
The buttonhole foot with slide is included, and the buttonhole is measured and sewn for you. It is the feature people notice on this machine straight away.
Button sew on program
Sews a button on properly, which is the sort of job that otherwise gets done badly by hand.
BERNINA CB hook
A front loading metal bobbin case rather than a plastic drop in system, and a large part of why the stitch stays even on fine fabric.
160mm to the right of the needle
Six and a half inches of space, at 8kg, so it is still light enough to take to a class.
