Janome Atelier 5 Sewing Machine
The new Atelier 5 is the sweet spot in Janome’s Atelier series. It has everything that makes the range so popular, the generous workspace, the smooth stitching and the easy to use controls, together with a high definition colour screen, one touch needle plate conversion and 200 stitches up to 9mm wide. It suits every type of sewing, from fashion and home furnishings to patchwork and quilting.
With 210mm of space to the right of the needle and 120mm of height, larger projects are comfortable to manage, and an extra wide table comes in the box. The knee lifter is included too, so you can raise the presser foot with your knee and keep both hands on the fabric as you pivot and turn.
The 3.5 inch colour screen is crisp and easy to read, and you can scan a QR code for help whenever you need it. Switching to straight stitching is quick, with a one touch lever to convert the needle plate, and the straight stitch needle plate is included for really precise piecing and topstitching. There are 200 stitches including 10 buttonhole styles and four alphabets, and the machine sews smoothly at up to 1,000 stitches per minute.
Day to day it is a joy to use. The Superior Needle Threader V2 makes threading easy, the automatic thread cutter trims at the touch of a button, and the easy set bobbin has its own cutter on the winder. There is a start/stop button with maximum speed control, programmable needle up/down, a lock stitch, memory for stitch and alphabet combinations, variable zigzag using the foot control and a port for a remote thread cutter.
